Get your garden ready for planting

Garden tilling and soil preparation services are available through Cambyrne Earthworks, our sister business serving homeowners, gardeners, homesteaders, and small farms throughout Mercer County and central Kentucky.

While Cambyrne Farms focuses on plants, livestock, and agricultural products, Cambyrne Earthworks handles our equipment-based services—including garden tilling, excavation, grading, hauling, driveway work, and other property improvements.

Garden Tilling for New & Existing Gardens

Whether you’re breaking ground for a new garden or preparing an established plot for another growing season, proper soil preparation can save hours of difficult manual work.

Cambyrne Earthworks can help with:

  • New garden preparation — Break up suitable ground to help turn an unused area into a workable garden space.
  • Existing garden tilling — Prepare established plots for spring planting or another growing season.
  • Vegetable gardens — Till larger backyard and homestead garden areas before planting.
  • Soil amendment incorporation — Work suitable compost or other amendments into an existing garden when arranged as part of the project.
  • Garden expansion — Increase the size of an established garden by preparing adjacent ground.
  • End-of-season tilling — Turn suitable plant residue and organic matter back into the garden after the growing season.

Soil conditions matter. Excessively wet ground, heavy rocks, large roots, buried debris, established sod, and other site conditions can affect how effectively an area can be tilled.

More than just tilling

If you’re creating a new garden, Cambyrne Earthworks may also be able to help with the work surrounding it.

Need topsoil, compost, or other bulk material moved and spread? We offer material hauling and spreading services.

Need an uneven garden area graded or reshaped before planting? That’s something we can discuss as part of the project as well.

And when you’re ready to plant, head back to Cambyrne Farms for seasonal seedlings, plants, and other farm and garden offerings.
